Thank you for calling Local 1051's information tape, this is Thurday April 12^th 2007, President Silva speaking.

A decision has been made regarding the out of region SBC techs working in our region. They have been moved over to Article 43 and will be joining our local effective April 8^th. Job assignments and any effect it may have on our members will be relayed to all of our members if they are to be affected in any way.

There is also work being done on the National level regarding contractors doing tech work in the Verizon and Qwest footprints. The Union and the company are working to replace contractors via recall, ATS and/or new hires.

At the AT&T call center in Fairhaven, the Union and the company are still trying to hammer out a fair and equitable resolution for pay for sales that will keep Fairhaven in line with the rest of the Legacy T call centers. Hopefully a resolution will come shortly.

Town of Westford employees should be meeting with their supervisors regarding job descriptions. If you have not, please ask your supervisors where it is and when will they meet on it. Please continue to ask and when you do meet with them we ask that you initial it to show that you have seen it and agree with it.
