Update June 7, 2005
Happy Spring to one and all! It looks as though we may have missed spring and are heading directly into summer.
We have received many requests for information on negotiations and where we stand in the process. To date, we have had two meetings with Steve Ledoux, Town Manager, Pamela Tebbetts, HR Director and Suzanne Marchand, Finance Director. In addition to the Local Stewards, Linda Teoli, CWA President and Lisa Xavier, CWA Secretary/Treasurer also attended.
We have submitted the requests that were obtained through the bargaining surveys that the membership filled out.
At present, our third meeting has not been scheduled due to the fact that Steve Ledoux is away on his honeymoon. Our Congratulations go out to him and the new MRS.
In the event that contract negotiations have not been completed and voted on by the membership on July 1, 2005, the members will continue to function under the current contract. Any member that is not at a step 6 will move to the next step on July 1st under the current wage schedule (2002-2005 contract).
The Town Manager has agreed that once it is settled, all changes will be retroactive to July 1, 2005.
Starting on June 16, 2005, Chief Steward Dianne Cloutier will be on leave from the Water Department through the beginning of August. During this absence, Steward Audrey Ducharme from the Fire Department will be acting Chief Steward. Audrey can be reached either at the Fire Dept 692-5542 or at her home 692-6782. She welcomes the opportunity to assist members with any contract questions or issues they may have.
